In this video I show how to set OneDrive to show all files on your Surface or PC without taking up any storage space. This was a Window 8 and 8.1 feature loved by many people but removed from Windows 10. Alas, there is a workaround for Windows 10 users who can't bear to sync all those Gigabytes. I show how to display your OneDrive as a network drive on your Surface. This is not the exact same as the Windows 8 "smart files" or the placeholder phantom files, but it comes really close and is a good solution. Like if you found it helpful and spread the word!!
Here is a summary of the instructions shown in the video:
1. Login to your OneDrive - go to www.onedrive.com
2. Go into a folder in your OneDrive (any folder)
3. In the URL bar (navigation bar) copy the text that is between the "=" and the "%"
4. Go to "This PC" and click on "Map Network Drive" option
5. Type in "
https://d.docs.live.net/[your copied text]/
6. Click finish, enter your credentials, and voila! You're done.
